Juan Verde is an internationally recognized strategist with extensive experience advising both the public and private sectors.
Throughout his career, Mr. Verde has designed innovative solutions to attract foreign investment and support the energy transition through sustainable business practices. He served in the U.S. Department of Commerce under Presidents Obama and Clinton, holding key roles such as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasia, where he led U.S. efforts to enhance market access and economic relations across 52 countries.
He was also President Biden’s Export Council member, advising the White House on international trade and competitiveness. In the political sphere, he has collaborated with prominent global leaders, including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Al Gore, and played a key role in the Biden-Harris campaign.
Mr. Verde sits on several boards in the private sector, including Volcan Compañía Minera and HISPASAT. He advises major corporations such as Google, Cisco, and American Express on embedding sustainability into core business strategy. He is also part of the Sustainability Advisory Council of Airbus Foundation and an American Sustainable Business Council board member.
A strong advocate for environmental causes, he has worked closely with Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project and participated in UN Climate Conferences COP25 and COP26. He currently serves as President of the Advanced Leadership Foundation, focused on training the next generation of global leaders.
Mr. Verde holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard University and dual degrees in Political Science and International Relations from Boston University. He has received numerous international honors for his leadership and commitment to sustainability.
